These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the RUG ROOT website and all purchases made through it. By accessing this website or placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms in full.

1. Nature of Products

All products sold by RUG ROOT are handmade and/or made-to-order. Due to the handcrafted nature of our rugs, variations in color, texture, weave, thickness, size, and finish are inherent and expected.

Product images, descriptions, dimensions, and colors shown on the website are indicative only and may vary slightly from the final delivered product due to:

  • Handcrafted production

  • Natural fibers

  • Dye lots

  • Screen and lighting differences

Such variations do not constitute defects, damage, or misrepresentation.

2. Orders & Acceptance

Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase and does not form a binding contract.

A contract is formed only after RUG ROOT confirms the order via email.

RUG ROOT reserves the absolute right to:

  • Accept or reject any order

  • Cancel orders due to pricing errors, material limitations, production constraints, or operational reasons

  • Modify or cancel orders prior to production if necessary

All products remain the property of RUG ROOT until full payment has been received.

3. Pricing, Shipping & Customs

Prices are displayed in the applicable currency and include the product cost and shipping unless otherwise stated.

Customs duties, import taxes, VAT, or any local charges imposed by the destination country are strictly the responsibility of the customer.
RUG ROOT has no control over, and cannot estimate or prepay, such charges.

Failure to pay customs duties or refusal of delivery does not qualify for a refund.

Prices may change at any time without notice and do not affect confirmed orders.

4. Payments

All payments must be completed through Shopify-approved payment gateways.

Orders are processed only after successful payment confirmation.
RUG ROOT is not responsible for payment failures, banking delays, or third-party payment provider issues.

5. Production, Shipping & Delivery

Production and delivery timelines provided are estimates only.

RUG ROOT shall not be held liable for delays caused by:

  • Shipping carriers

  • Customs clearance

  • Force majeure events

  • Incorrect or incomplete address details provided by the customer

Delivery delays do not entitle the customer to cancel the order, request refunds, or claim compensation.

6. Returns, Defects & Claims

As most rugs are handmade and/or custom-made, returns are accepted only if explicitly approved by RUG ROOT.

In the event of a genuine manufacturing defect or incorrect item:

  • The customer must notify RUG ROOT within 2 days of delivery

  • Clear images and complete order details are mandatory

RUG ROOT reserves the sole right to decide whether the issue will be resolved by repair, replacement, or partial refund.

The following are not considered defects:

  • Color variation

  • Size tolerance (up to approximately ±1–2%)

  • Texture or weave variation

  • Shedding, shading, or pile direction changes

  • Natural fiber irregularities

Returns sent without prior written approval will not be accepted.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RUG ROOT shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

  • Loss of use, loss of profit, or emotional distress

  • Delays or losses caused by third-party couriers or customs authorities

  • Claims arising from normal handmade variations

  • Improper use, cleaning, installation, or maintenance

In all cases, RUG ROOT’s total liability shall never exceed the amount paid for the product.

8. Intellectual Property

All website content, including designs, images, text, graphics, and branding, is the exclusive intellectual property of RUG ROOT.

Any reproduction, copying, commercial use, or redistribution without prior written permission is strictly prohibited.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India.

All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in India, regardless of the customer’s country of residence.
